History of College: Begum Faizunnesa Mohila Degree College, Bamna was established on 18 March 1996 as per decision of a general meeting which was presided over by Mr. Ali Akbar, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Bamna. The College was named after Begum Faizunnesa Khatun Zahidi Quraishi who was the mother of Mr. Syed Rahmatur Rab Irtiza Ahsan, former Member of Parliament, Mr. Syed Faizul Momen Sarwar Ahsan, Mr. Syed Rashid Reza Ahsan and Mr. Syed Manzurur Rab Murtaza Ahsan, Chairman, Bamna Upazila Parishad. Begum Faizunnesa Khatun Zahidi Quraishi was the only daughter of Khan Bahadur Abdul Momin, First Muslim Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Division. She was the wife of Khan Sahib Syed Najmul Ahsan, Ex-Zeminder of Bamna. Mr. Syed Rahmatur Rab Irtiza Ahsan, Mr. Syed Manzurur Rab Murtaza Ahsan and Mr. Syed Faizul Momen Sarwar Ahsan have been enrolled in the category of Founder, as the members of their families have accomplished a gigantic task in the process of establishing the college. The College achieved recognition from the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Barisal effecting from 01.07.2000 and got Money Payment Order (MPO) on and from 01.04.2001. The college acquired affiliation of Business Management (BM) course in the session 2002-2003 and got MPO of the course on and from 01.05.2004. The college obtained affiliation of Degree(Pass) Course in the session 2003-2004. But the expectation of MPO of degree level teachers has not yet been fulfilled. The results of all public examinations are very satisfactory. The college got the honour of acquiring the position of ‘ Top Ten colleges’ of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Barisal on the basis of the commendable result in the H.S.C. Examination for three consecutive years. The college has succeeded in maintaining 82.95% to 96.49% of H.S.C. examination result for last nine years, 84.62% to 100% of Degree (Pass) Course result for last five years and 100% of H.S.C.(B.M) examination result for last five years. In the results of public examinations in the last year the college got 6 A+ in H.S.C. examination, 12 A+ in H.S.C.(B.M.) examination and 19 first division in Degree (Pass) examination. The college has a girls’ hostel in the college premises where around 100 students have been residing under proper counseling and guidance cosily. At present 927 students are prosecuting studies in the college. The college has done a lot to ensure glorious success to spread out female education in the area with good reputation.
