Agiljhara Sreemati Matri Mangal Girls’ Secondary School is the first Girls’ Secondary School located in the north subdivision of Barisal district. With the co-operation, consultation and donation of many accomplished persons including reverent Surendra Nath Howlader, the then Headmaster of Bhegai Halder Public Academy, a noble minded man named Dinabandhu Halder, a worthy descendant of high minded Bhegai Halder, established the School in 1961 in his own 1.53 acre land.The school was established in a transitional period of the nation, aimed to fulfil the expectation of the low class people of the locality and to promote the life of women in general . After the establishment in 1961, the school received recognition as secondary school from Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, jessore in 1963. At present the school has got three groups including Science, humanities and business studies in running position. In addition, the school runs SSC vocational dippartment to impart job-oriented education. There are even a Computer Lab furnished with ten Coputer sets and a modern multimedia projector. Moreover, there is also a science laboratory equipped with science apparatus. In consequence of skilled teaching and instruction, the girl students are making excellent results in JSC and SSC every year. The school also enjoys good reputation in co-curricular activity programs along with regular studies. In the light of above information it can be remarked that the school stands apert in respect to its achievements. It is mentionable that the school gained the distinction of hundred percent pass in the SSCexamination in2013.
