D.G.L secondary school is a good school. It is the 1st M.E school of Durgapasha Union Founded by Babu Surendronath Mondal. On 1st January 1927 With 35 students. The then name of the school was D.D.G.L. M.E. school. The first Head teacher of the school was Babu Manaranjan Mitra. In 1927 it was declared as a non government M.E school. In 1965 it was once again brought under secondary school. At that time the school building and the land was donned by Babu Surendronath Mondal and Babu Ashini Kumar Sarkder. Bangladesh government built the current school building. In 2012 it is regarded as the top twenty school of the B.i.s.e. Barisal. At present the result of the public examinations are satisfactory. There are 10 teachers and 3 staffs.
