GAVA HIGH SCHOOL

The village Gava was developed in education and culture till the middle period of the British Government, specially the Ghosedostidar communities in Gava. They were employed in various supreme positions of the British Government. At that time Bindubasini Ghosedostidar, the daughter of Eshan Ghosedostidar established this school in 2nd January 1899 for spreading education in this area.The name of the school was Gava High English school and it was shaped as "L" which got torned and for that reason, at present a two storeyed building has been built in 1999 beside that. The procedure of this school runs in that building now. in 1924, 11 of the students appeared at entrance examination from this school and all of them passed in first division. At that time the meritorious students of this school Debaprashad Ghosedostidar and Santisudha Ghosedostidar stood first class first in entrance examination. Consecutively under the university of Kolkata, for their glorious achievement the university of Kolkata the school permanently recognized in 28 February 1928.
