Welcome to AWAR GIRLS' SECONDARY SCHOOL

Wellcome to Awar Girl’s Secondary School………… It was memorable day for the people of the village Awar and its neighbouring villages. The day was 10 January,1994. Janab Md. Anwar Hossain, the then Chairman of Syedkati Union Parisad under Banaripara Upazilla, Barisal, convened a public meeting at the premises of Awar Dhakhil Madrasah with a view to establishing a “Girl’s Secondary School” in his villages for the improvement of female education of that locality. Some local elites spoke highly giving importance on female education and on establishing a girls’ school in the locality. Janab Md. Anwar Hossain, the chairman of Union Parisad and convener of the meeting presided over the meeting. After long discussion a decision was taken unanimously to set up a girls’ school naming “Awar Girls’ Secondary School”. Then according to the govt. regulation an “organizing committee” consisting of some influential elites was formed Janab Md. Anwar Hossain was elected unanimously the chairman of the organizing committee DR. Shamsul Alam S/O late M.A. Quader (Retired Deputy Secretary ) donated 25000/=(twenty five thousand) taka in cash and Md. Anwar Hossain donated 20000/=(twenty thousand) taka in cash to start the work of establishment of the school. And both of them were declared as the “Founder” of the school. Later on Md. Shahjahan, S/O late Fajlul Karim was appointed as the Headmaster. It needs to mention here that late M. A. Quader (Retired Deputy Secretary ) had a dream to donate his land property for an educational institution. But unfortunately he died in 1988. Md. Anwar Hossain also wanted to set up a girls’ school but he did not have required land. So, Professor Quamrunnessa, D/O late M. A. Quader (Retired Deputy Secretary) according to his father’s wish proposed the chairman Anwar Hossain to donate all the land properly for the school. She was the dreamer of the school. She and her brothers and sisters donated 1.895 acres of land for the school and become the life donors of the school.Specially Mr. Nurul Alam(Iqbal),S/O late M. A. Quader (Retired Deputy Secretary)who contributed about 20 lacs taka for a school building its name is "ABDUL QUADER ACCADEMIC BHABAN". Some local elites also donated money and become life donors.Their names would be written in golden letter in the history of the school. The school got its first recognition in 1995 as a junior school and was included in M.P.O in 1997. The school received its secondary recognition in 2004. At present there exists Humanities, Science, Business studies group in the school. The result of the J.S.C and S.S.C exam are very well. Hundred percent students pasted the J.S.C and S.S.C examination of 2013. The school is now improving day by day.
