CHARFASSON T. BARRET MODEL SECONDARY SCHOOL

CHARFASSON T. BARRET MODEL SECONDARY SCHOOL is situated at the centre of charfasson upazilla. Formed with silt of the Bay of Bengal the biggest and the most famous school is located the southest end of Bhola district. As there was no educational institute here during the reign of British, the then Bakergonj District collector Mr. Tufnell Barret established this school in 1932 and donated 125 acres of land in favour of this school. The then persons interested in education in this area were engazed in teaching in this school of them Mr. Ahammadullah master, Mr. Mugbul Ahmmad B. A B. T, Babu Surendra Mohon Dutta, Mr. Amzad Hossen were noteworthy from 1933 to 1945 it was recognized as a junior school. Then it was recognized as a high school by kalkata university. In 1948 some students of this school sit for Entrance Examination for the first time and all of them passed. The students of this school passed the S. S. C Examination with distingtion in different times. At present the school has a well computer lab, a science laboratory laden with valuable instruments’ and a library rich with different kinds of books. Many former students of this school are working in home and abroad as doctors, engineers, scientists, barester, gujde etc. with credit. Mr. Srurendho mohan dutta was the first headmaster of this school. The school has been recognized as a model secondary school since 2008. The present president of managing committee of this school and upazilla chairman Mr. Nurul Islam vp is working for the development and welfare of this school. At present Mr. A. K. M Jalal Ahamed the headmaster of this school has been working relentless by since his appointment.
