The founding of daulatkhan Abu Abdulla College Daulatkhan Abu Abdulla College was founded on 4th May, 1983 by a veteran educationist, distinguished, personality, named Principal Zakir Hossain with an aim to spread the light of education and to promote the socio-economic condition of the people of this area. Local elite of Daulatkhan played a vital role and made financial help to it’s establishment. The young teachers worked hard with sincerity and dedication at the initial stage. A governing body was formed to run the college started functioning form session 1983-84 with three groups Science, Arts and Commerce and 333 students. Act of naming:- It was named after the name of late Abu Abdulla, a brave son of this locality, D.I.G of police, of the then Pakistan Government entangling with the name Daulatkhan. Brief information:- It was set up with financial assistance of Mahamuda Khatun Memorial trusty board, a trusty board installed in the name of Mahamuda Khatun, mother of Abu Abdulla and with the financial help of the local people. It got Academic recognition on 1st July 1984 from Jessore Board. It was nominated H.S.C Examination Centre in 1985. Degree course was inaugurated with the approval of Dhaka University in 1986. It got the recognition of Dhaka University for B.A and B.com course in 1988. Later on it became a full-fledged degree college getting the recognition for B.sc course in 1994. Achievement:- The college is being run by an efficient and vigilant administration both curriculum and co curriculum activities are being conducted in vary suitable atmosphere from the very beginning and satisfactory results are being achieved in various examinations. It may be mentioned that it secured fourth place among top ten in H.S.C Examination in 2007 under Barisal Board. It also secured 20th and 8th place respectively among top Twenty in 2011 and 2012. Besides, it secured 1st place in Barisal Division in B.sc Examination in 2001 and got Taka one Lac as reward from the national University.
