The school has a long historical background. Nalchity Merchants’ Model Secondary School was founded by then some famous Merchants on January 02, 1929 with only 105 students. The first Headmaster of this school was Mr. Ananta Kumar Sen. It has eight buildings including one three storeyed building. The buildings house the class-rooms, the laboratories, the teachers’ lounge, the Computer lab and the office. The school has a total number of 992 students in 12 sections of 5 classes. There are twenty teachers and 7 other staffs. The school is used for the venue for the J.S.C & the S.S.C examination. The result of the J.S.C & the S.S.C examination is satisfactory. This is the biggest and most renowned school in Nalchity.
