Dharandi degree college is situated in KAMLAPUR Union at dharandi village away sixteen killomiters from Patuakhali district town. Most of the people are living here below the poverty line and drop out of passing SSC/Dakhil students is increasing at an alarming rate day by day. For regarding this matter many founders of the institution, social welfarers,alit persons, civilians, political leaders and young generation especially Mr. Alhaz Nurul Islam Miah the founder of this college expressed deep concern for this. They deeply realize to establish a college to prevent the drop out students and for the faciliation of female educatoin. Everybody requested Mr. Alhaz Nurul Islam Miah for taking necessary steps for this. Then Mr. Alhaz Nurul Islam Miah called in a general meeting at 30/12/1993 and all classes of people attended the meeting and responded it spontaneously. The also assured to help him for this purpose benevolently. At the end Mr. Founder declared for establishing a complete college at 1st January Ninteen Ninty four after the name of Dharandi village, as "DHARANDI COLLEGE" and thanked to every one. For Securing good results of the student the teacher's follow a yearly academic calender which is not available in others institutions.
