The Historical Kalmegha Muslim Secondary School was founded by Alhaj Aher Uddin Talukder in 1942. The then name of the school was Kalmegha Muslim M. E. School. In 1947 it was approved by the Calcutta University as kalmegha Muslim H.E. School. Mr. Abul Hasem was the first Head master of the school. The school buildings including a big play ground, a hostel, a big pond, a mosque, an Eid-gah, a post office, a union health complex, 7 teachers’ quarters cover an area of 6.15 acre. The school has a good reputation. The result of the JSC & SSC examinations are quite satisfactory. It is one of the best schools in Barguna district. In 2012 Alhaz Goalm Sabur Tulu MP 110 Barguna-2, took Proper Steps to turn it in to a College. Now it is recognized as Kalmegha Muslim Secondary School & College by the BISE, Barisal
