The school was established in 1968 as a junior school with the initiative of local education patronizer Alhajj Lutfor Rahman Sarder. After remaining closed during liberation war in 1971, the school started its journey afresh as a secondary school after independence. This initiative was also led by Alhajj Lutfor Rahman Sarder – the principal founder and donor of this institution. Messers Dalil Uddin Talukdar, Gias Uddin Sikder, Mesbah Uddin Sikder, Mazibur Rahman Sikder, Md. Azizul Haque Sikder, Abdul Mannan Mridha and Jalal Uddin Sarder (co-land donor) were, inter alia, played commendable role in reactivating the institution. The school is playing pivotal role in educating the students of this locality being an island surrounded by rivers. The school has a lush green campus. With the initiative and encouragement of Md. Emdaul Hoque, Additional Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, the school has become a centre of excellence, nurturing discipline and culture. As recognition of its performance the school has been selected as JSC examination centre and SSC examination venue.
