Gouripur Union High School was established in 1969 as a Junior High School in a very backward and uneducated area with the donation of local people. Almost all the members of local Howlader family of Tewaripur donated the required one acre of land for the school. Later on some other interested local people donated some lands for the school and school authority bought some land. At present 2.36 acres of land is under school possession. In that very year the school got its recognition as Junior High school. Later on in the year 1971 the school was raised into a High School. The Jessore Board was pleased to offer recognition as a High School from 01-01-1971.Then the school was a local need as there was no High School within the 12 squire kilometers. Mr. Ali Ahmed was the 1st headmaster of the school. The results of the public examination are always satisfactory. The scenery of the school is very charming as it is situated in an open place. The sanitary condition of the school is good. At present the subjects of three groups i,e. Humanities, Sceience and Commerce are taught here.
