Welcome to SARWARJAN PILOT SECONDARY SCHOOL

Bamna Sarwarjan Model School and College is the present name and status. But it has a history of establishment. In the year 1944 Syed Abi Mohammad Ahsan, the then local zeminder of Bamn, took the initiative along with his sons Syed Najmul Ahsan, Syed Fakhrul Ahsan, Syed Mainul Ahsan, Syed Qamarul Ahsan, Syed Abu Nasar ziaul Ahsan and Syed Manzurul Ahsan and decided to establish a school for the sake of educational development of Bamna. Mr. Syed Abi Mohammad Ahsan convened a meeting at his residence. The meeting was attended by a huge number of local influential persons and Government officers and officials. Those who attended the meeting in support of the establishment of the school were Mr. Sader Ali, Officer-in-charge, Bamna Police Station, Mr. Md. Ishaque, Medical Officer, Bamna, Mr. Md. Ishaque Mia, Sub-Registrar, Bamna, Mr. Wajed Ali Khan (Shafipur), Mr. Abdul Aziz Talukder (Potkakhali), Mr. Asmat Ali Golder (Bebaziakhali), Mr. Nurul Islam Sardar (Chechan), Mr. Mohammad Ali Panchayet (Sonakhali), Mr. Sabdar Ali Sikder (Kalikabari), Mr. Belayet Hossain Chowdhury (Dhushkhali), Mr. Shamsul Haque Mollah (Bukabunia), Abdul Wahed Dafader (Jafrakhali), Mr. Abdus Shahid Mridha (Bhaijora), Mr. Osman Jamadder (Ramna) and others. The meeting opined to establish a school and it was named Bamna M.E. School. In the year 1945 Syed Najmul Ahsan, Syed Fakhrul Ahsan, Syed Mainul Ahsan, Syed Qamarul Ahsan, Syed Abu Nasar ziaul Ahsan and Syed Manzurul Ahsan jointly donated Taka eighteen Thousand and a long tin-shed house of Zeminder Bari was shifted to the selected site for school at the village Bamna near the bank of the river Bishkali. In the year 1947 the school was named after Syed Sarwarjan, the father of Syed Abi Muhammad Ahsan. Mr. Syed Rahmatur Rar Irtiza Ahsan, Ex-Member of Parliament still represents his family as the representative of founders. The first batch of candidates appeared at the Matriculation examination and Ranajit Chandra Shil came out successful at the first one. In the year 1964 the school was shifted to the village Kalagasia in front of Bamna Mia Bari to save against river erosion. In the year 1965 under the dynamic leadership of Syed Rahmatur Rab Irtiza Ahsan the school was shifted to the present site at Shafipur near Saheb Bari Bazar. Since then the school was gradually upgraded to high school and lastly school and college. The entrepreneurship was launched by local Zeminder family but the history of the establishment deserves the appreciation of local influential persons and Government officers of that time for their co-operation and service. The college section was opened in the year 2011 in the initiative and guidance by Advocate Md. Harun-Ar-Rashid, Deputy Attorney General, Bangladesh. The renowned students of this school includes Messrs. Syed Rahmatur Rab Irtiza Ahsan, Ex Member of Parliament, Asmat Ali Sikdar, Ex Member of Parliament, Khondakar Mahbub Hossain, Ex Chairman, Bangladesh Bar Council and Bangladesh Bar Association, Principal Syed Manzurur Rab Murtaza Ahsan, Chairman Bamna Upazila Parishad and the Principal, Begum Faizunnesa Mohila Degree College, Engineer M. Abdus Shaheed, Additional Chief Engineer, LGED. Dr. Professor Abdul Hayee, Head of the Department of Neuro –Medicine, Dhaka Mitford Medical College and Hospital, Advocate Md. Harun-Ar-Rashid, Deputy Attorney General, Bangladesh, Late Brigd. Khondakar Mahbubur Rahman, Ex Member,Public Service Commission, Khondakar Shahadat Hossain, Ex-General Manager, The Daily Ittefaq, Syed Shahriyar Ahsan, Managing Director, United Insurance, Dr. Professor M.Habibur Rahman Sikdar, Head of the Department of Renal Diseases,M.Khalilur Rahman Sikdar, Deputy Managing Director, IIDFC, Bank and others. The untiring efforts of the school administration leading the school towards development in the field of education and culture.
