After the Liberation war of Bangladesh in 1972, under the leadership of Abdur Rob Serniabat, the first minister of land and an organiser of liberation war , along with local awamiligue leaders , freedom fighters and educationist Mr. MOtiar Rahaman Talukder, Mr.Atul chandra Malakar, Mr.Bibhuti Bhusan Biswas, Mr Tapan Kumar Biswas and with the direct asssistance of local people, this Shaheed Abdur Rob Serniabat Degree College was established first as " Bangladesh college".At the time of its establishment Mr. Bebhuti Bhusan Biswas was the acting principal of this college. The college got its first affiliation under jessor board in intermediate section for Humanities, Business Studies and science group on 01/07/1973. It was affiliated to the Dhaka Univefsity for Degree pass course on 01/07/1984 and to the Technical Education board for H.s.c (B.M) on 22/12/1997. In recognition to the outstanding contribution of Shaheed Abdur Rob Serniabat ,a renowned national leader, educationist and organiser of liberation war, by the approval of the prime - minister of that time and for the demand of people, this college was named " Shaheed Abdur Rob Serniabat Degree College" in 1998.
