Bahadurpur Nishikanta Gain Secondary Girls School & College is one of the National awarded Institutions in Agailjhara Upazila under the district of Barisal. It was established on 1st January, 1973 to spread the light of education among the female in the remote, rural area. It was founded by the help of Babu Mukunda Bihari Gain, Babu Shyamlal Gain, the remarkable persons and the common masses of the locality. Among them, Babu Mukunda Bihari Gain was the founder of the institution. Babu Mukunda Bihari Gain, Babu Ramoni Kanta Gain and Babu Shyamlal Gain were the Land and property Donors of the institution. It started its functioning by the name of Ahuti Batra Junior Girls School and the Headmaster was Babu Narayan Chandra Joydhar. In 1985, this institution was developed to Bahadurpur Nishikanta Gain Secondary Girls School by the leadership of Babu Subhash Chandra Gain, Babu Radheshyam Gain, the remarkable persons and the common masses of the locality. It started higher secondary Section in 1997 and vocational Section in 2000 by the handling of Babu Radheshyam Gain. Then it was named as Bahadurpur Nishikanta Gain Secondary Girls School & College. From the very beginning of this institution, Babu Subhash Chandra Gain and Babu Radheshyam Gain, son of Babu Mukunda Bihari Gain take all responsibilities and liabilities of it. Among all of them, Babu Radheshyam Gain plays the most vital role for the development of it. He operates the institution very directly. So, Babu Radheshyam Gain is the founder and director of the institution. Babu Nirmal Chandra Halder, the running Headmaster of the institution took the charge of the principal when it developed to Higher Secondary Section. Babu Ranajit Kumar Madhu is the first appointed Principal of the institution. A big play ground was prepared and a big tank was dug by the financial help of Karitas, Bangladesh. World Vision, Bangladesh provided furniture. Tin Shaded Building was constructed by the financial help of Church of Bangladesh. The Administrative Building was made by Bangladesh Government in 1995.
