Girls` School

Wel-come to Wazed Memorial Girls High School. Wazed Memorial Girls High School is one of the best school in Barisal district. The school was founded by the Hon`able Mr A. K Fazlul Huq, Premier of undivided Bengal, on the 2nd feb,1939 named his father Mr. Wazed Ali Miah, on his own ancestral land. At first the school was started as a free institution. Some of the local educated person served here as a temporary basis. Hon-able Mr. A. K fazlul Huq gave them some honorarium. Later a girls school was most essential for the education of local girls. There was no girls school in the vast rural area. So some of local elite person discussed about the matter with Sher-E-Bangla A.K Fazlul Huq and proposed for a girls` school. He accepted the elite person`s proposal. Then it was recognized as a Junior Girls High School in 1958. The founder Headmistress was Mrs. Monowara Begum. At first there were four teachers and 32 students in this school. At present it is a famous girls` School in Barisal district which consists of 14 teachers, 5 staffs and 611 students.
