The history of SCGM high schoolis a unique history of an oldest institution in Barisal town.The full name of the school is Sree Chaittaniya Gobinda Mohan High school.It was establist in 1913 during Britis rule.A prominant pleader radha Narayan Shaha founder this school.Once this institution was one of the bigest and atthe same time riputed schools in Barisal town.But due to exodus of the Hindus followed by a communal conflect in 1950 the school ceasd to function from 1950 to 1959.After this it was first revived and recognized as a junior high school for two years with effect from 01.07.1960 and the same wasraised and favour with recognition as a high school with effect from01.07.1962.
