Shahid Ziaur Rahaman Degree College was established in 1994 A.D. This well- reputed College in the district of Barisal was founded by an eminent politician, Advocate Mozibur Rahman Sarwar. He was the first elected Mayor of Bairsal City Corporation and he was also an elected M.P of Bairsal-05 constituency. This College has a special appeal to us all because it was established with a view to imparting education to the students who live in extreme poverty in the remote areas specially, the female students. There exists a congenial and peaceful atmosphere in this college. It has opened out a new vistas in the field of higher education.
