Historical Background of Charfasson Govt. College . Charfasson is an island which is called "Poly Matir Desh".This area has been developed through the cultural activities of the people of the reverine area. Tafnal Barett High School is the first school of this area . Some people connected with that school and devoted to spreading education took effective steps to establish a college here.Some people headed by Md.Abdul Haque Master , head teacher of that school submitted a proposal to the SDO Bhola. At that time , there was no college in Bhola Sadar. So, the steps taken by the people became stopped . Despite this, all people of this area took an initiative to estabilish a college here. It was on 01 June, 1968 in Brozo Gopal Public Club. The meeting was presided by Abdul Motaleb Master. M. M . Nazrul Islam , head teacher of Tafnal Barett High School joined as the Founder Principal of the college on 01/08/1968. Dr. Abdul Matin became the first secretary of the college . The college started its functioning with classes in the Brozo Gopal Public Club on 04/09/1968. Tafnal Barett High School donated 10.00 acres land to establish the college and it was on 24/10/1968. Hisam Uddin Ahmed , Inspector of Colleges visited this proposed college . Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Jessore granted recognition for teaching H.S.C level on 03/04/1969. In 1970, the college started functioning in its own campuus. Degree courses are appliated on 26/07/1970. This college was becoming devoloped day by day for the relentless efforts of Honourable Founder Principal M.M Nazrul Islam. Founder Principal , M.M. Nazrul Islam died on 17 Sept. 1992 . After his death , Maksudur Rahman joined as the Principal of the college on 15/07/1995. B.Sc Course was appliated on 06/07/2000. Kaised Ahamed Dulal joined as the Principal of the college on 22/12/2009 and Md. Humayun Kabir joined as the Vice-Principal of the college on 01/12/2009. Abdillah Al Islam Jakob M .P and Honourable Deputy Minister is the Chairman of the Governing body.He is the son of Honourable Founder Principal. He has implemented various developments in all sectors of the college . He took active steps to appliate Honours Courses in different subjects on 02/01/2013.He has made a history to nationalize the College on 11/10/2013 to fulfill the long time cherished desire of the people of this area. Now , this College has been recognized as the best College of this area.
