B.K. Secondary school is one of most famous and advanced one at Wazirpur upazila in the district of Barisal.It was established in 1970 by the distinguished person interested in education and common people of the locality ( specially people of Barakotha and Khatialpara village).This institution bears a glorious history of our independence.This institution was used as the main "Ghati" or Camp of 9th sector of our Liberation War in 1971. As a result the occupation force of Pakistan maid a terrible armed operation to destroy the locality on 18th october, in 1971 and so many houses of the locality as well as the wooden structure of the school was burnt. After the Liberation War the school got first recognition from class six to class ten at a time with the help of Babu Haranath Bayeen,the M.P of first parliament of Bangladesh. Next Shaheed Abdur Rob Sherniabad visited the school in 1973 and announced to build up a school hostle name after Banga Babdhu. After then a huge structural developments have been done by the help of government and local donor. At present B.K. Secondary school has become very reputed accross the country for its glorious results in all public examinations. We are proud of our school.
