kalaiya under bauphal in the district of patuakhali is a big business centre. it is situated near the river tetulia, It was populous but the people of this area was illitrate. the then some of the eminent person thought of the development of kalaiya. they realized that without education no progress is possible. so among them a famous social worker named dr.shahjahan mia decided to establish a school. by the association of the people of this area dr. shahjahan mia founded a high school in 1960 and it was named kalaiya secondary school. now it is a famous school and it's result (jsc/ssc)is remarkable. every year many students obtain GPA 5 . to develop the academic and other side of the school, the headmaster ferdushi shirin is very active and helpful. so the school is different from others.
